Fun but Hot in Texas!

This was the post on Facebook at 1:00 a.m. this morning. (Who's staying up so late?!)  :)

Cattle drive and fantastic Texan hospitality. Plenty of bottled water - it's really quite warm here.

Cool! I mean HOT! They may have gone to the Fort Worth Stockyards. Them's REAL cowboys! And, yea, sorry about the heat. It's supposed to be 104 degrees in Dallas today! Yikes! Sounds like a good day for air conditioning or swimming.

106 tomorrow?!?!

Libera In Texas!

These are Libera's Facebook posts that they made around 2:30 a.m. Central Standard Time:

All tucked up in Dallas.

and then...

Safe and sound in Texas.

Aww, they must be sooo tired. Hope they can sleep in and get used to the time change. It's very hot in Texas today, so keep cool Libera! See you soon!

*gasp* THEY'RE HERE!!!!

Libera posted this on their Facebook page 11 hours ago:

We're on our way to cowboy country. Ye-hah....

Then they just posted this 20 minutes ago:

We have arrived In the USA. Some in Washington and some in Boston. Now onward to Texas......

On Twitter at the same time:

In the USA - heading for Cowboy country.

Love the funny "Ye-hah" reference. Wanna see them in cowboy hats next to a longhorn steer!  :)

Update for Dallas: Libera will be singing in the 11 a.m. church service as well! This service should be broadcast via their website - http://www.phpc.org/. Click on "Live Broadcast" and remember it is at 11 am Central Time.  :)

Libera's coming seems more real now when you see what songs they're going to be singing. Can't wait to find out who the soloists are and if any of the little newbies get to come! Hope they have a safe trip here and really enjoy the U.S.

Libera Singing "The Nutcracker"

This is an interview with EMI Japan.  Apparently Sir Simon Rattle and the Berliner Philharmoniker have recorded Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker," and Libera was asked to sing on the album! How cool is that?!  I believe the album is due out in September 2010, but EMI says the release date for Japan is Aug 4.

If you go to this EMI Japan website, you can click on CD1 Track 10 and hear Libera singing "Waltz of the Snowflakes!"  They were the perfect choice for this song!   http://www.emimusic.jp/classic/rattle/disco/toce90150.htm.

Official Summer 2010 Tour Poster

Libera posted this on their blog today. "Please feel free to download it, print it and post it in as many libraries, shops, churches, etc… as you want in Texas, Missouri, Tennessee and Georgia – and everywhere in between. Libera is coming!!"  It's another good way to help advertise their concerts!

Helping Libera

Libera posted the following to their blog today:

Dear supporters,

We want bring our music to people at affordable prices, but this means that we do not cover all our costs through ticket sales and free will offerings. As a touring choir we have some quite considerable expenses to cover - for instance our visas to visit the USA for our upcoming tour cost nearly $13,000 alone.

We do not have a large company or commercial backer in the background paying the bills, which means we have to raise our own funding. So if you feel able to help us cover our costs by making a donation, please visit www.justgiving.com/libera/donate.

If you wish to make a more specific offer of financial support, please feel free to contact us at office@libera.org.uk.

Kind regards,

Libera

I did not realize it costs so much to make the trip to the U.S.! Please help if you are able.

Spread The Word!

Libera posted this on their Facebook page:

To all our USA supporters: Can you help? We hope that lots of people will come to our concerts when we are on tour - so if you have friends or relatives or media contacts in the cities we are visiting why not let them know! Also can you share our music with your friends - perhaps via our YouTube site? Finally we would like lots more people to join us here at Facebook - what about your friends? We are close to 17000 Fans and lots of those are in the Philippines - but we are sure the USA could overtake the Philippines!

So come on people! Let's do this! I hope that all the USA Libera fans will TRY to see at least one of their concerts. We watch longingly as fans in other countries get to see them live and then post their awesome pictures and videos. We WISH that we could go. It looks so fun! But then when we FINALLY get Libera concerts right here in the good old US of A, we don't want to drive to see them? (Yeah, I know some people are genuinely too far away to drive. The most we drive is 15 hours to Colorado and 20 hours to Florida.) But they're coming for us! We don't know when they'll be back. Let's go see them! You can't beat those ticket prices!

We're going to be driving because it's cheaper for us than flying. My parents are driving to the St. Louis concert without me :( because I'm in Band Camp that week. My mom WAS going to drive the 14 1/2 hours to Dallas to take me to those concerts, but now they are also during Band Camp. So hopefully I will be going to the Nashville and Atlanta concerts. Nashville is a 7 1/2 hour drive, and Atlanta is another 4 hours, but it's worth it!

Now, is Libera baiting us to challenge the Philippines? There are over 300 million people in the US. - OF COURSE we can beat the Philippines! lol  Let's show them how many fans they have here and share, share, share! If you have a Facebook account, become a fan of Libera's FB page. Send invites to your FB friends. Post those awesome YouTube videos on your wall or Slide FunSpace. Libera is sooo close to 17000 fans! You can also e-mail the links to the YouTube videos for people NOT on Facebook. That's how I found out about Libera in the first place. So come on Libera fans! Let's show Libera how much we love them!

Atlanta Concert Tickets & Other Info

Tickets to the August 10 Atlanta concert are now available for $10. general seating. Click on http://www.peachtreepres.org/MusicConcertsEvents.aspx to purchase with a credit card. Please note that Libera will be in the Williams Center after the concert, with their CD's for sale and to sign autographs!  :)

Also, the Dallas church's website has the Libera concert poster for the August 1 concert (copy is now in my Aug. 10 post below) with "Travel Complications Resolved" underneath. So THAT is the reason for the date push-back. Hope a lot of people can still go to the concert. I can't go, but am REALLY looking forward to seeing everyone else's pictures, videos and descriptions of the concerts! I don't really want my summer to go by quickly, but THAT part of summer can't come soon enough! lol

This is a promotional video for the St. Louis concert that was done by St. Louis Cathedral Concerts:

Japan Spring 2010 Tour TV Appearance

Back on April 8 I linked to a video of Libera's appearance on a Japanese TV show called NTV Don. I didn't link to another video of them actually singing on the show because it was so blippy. Well, someone posted a VERY clear video. Thank you! It's so great to see the 9 guys close up. Ralph seems a little nervous (possibly jetlagged), but his voice is still beautiful. His singing in "The Fountain" is one of my favorites! Mini Ben does a great job as well. And is that Kavana singing the high notes in this video?! Excellent! The feathers falling is a nice touch, too!  :)

Ben Crawley

I've mentioned Tom Cully and Liam O'Kane's post-Libera music. Time to give Ben Crawley his due. He's still working for Libera behind the scenes, but he also has a MySpace page with a new song out called "The Dead Artist." Funky name but really nice to listen to. You can hear it and buy it at http://www.myspace.com/bencrawleyofficial. This song gets better and better every time I listen to it! It's so cool!!!

DALLAS and FORT WORTH CONCERT DATE CHANGES

UPDATE ON LIBERA'S FACEBOOK PAGE at 4:11pm CST:

"US Tour Update: Due to circumstances beyond our control we have had to reschedule the first 2 concerts on our USA tour. Our concert in Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, Dallas will now take place on Sunday 1st August, and Arborlawn Methodist Church, Fort Worth will take place on Monday 2nd August. We hope these changes do not cause too much inconvenience to our supporters."

Now I can't go cause it conflicts with Band Camp. Guess it's Nashville or nothing. Bummer.

CHANGES TO US CONCERT DATES!!!!!

URGENT!  The Dallas and Fort Worth church websites show that their concerts have been postponed!  ???

I am confused here. The Dallas church's website has removed the Libera poster from their main page. The concert is also not listed on their church calendar. Under "Worship & Music - Music Ministry - Concerts at PHPC" it says "Rescheduling" for the date. But when you click on "Libera In Concert," it shows the original poster with the July 27 date again.

The Fort Worth church's website says "Concert Postponed" with the date crossed out on the poster and "Please check back for more details in the coming days."

St. Louis, Nashville and Atlanta appear to be unchanged.

I will try to reach someone in the Dallas and Ft. Worth church offices. Often church offices are closed on Saturdays and sometimes they don't even answer their phones on Sundays.

I'm freaked because we ALMOST bought plane tickets to Dallas last night! I'm very concerned for other people who may have already done so.

Clearly something has happened on Libera's end. Perhaps it was a problem getting a flight from London to Dallas. Maybe they want to go someplace else first. Hopefully no one is ill.  ???  Will post when I know anything.

The only way they can make this up to me is to bring Josh.  :p

New Song from Tom Cully

I GOT YOU!  It's a new awesome song by now 16-year-old Tom Cully! (Just had his birthday!) You can hear it and buy it on his myspace page - www.myspace.com/tomcully. For me it's hard to beat Cashmere with anything, but this is REALLY close. It's more peppy and up-beat than Cashmere, and Tom varies in between this new really beautiful tenor and that old Libera treble that we know him for. The song's theme is that the boy got his girl, and he almost can't believe it! It's really nicely done, and I can't wait to hear more from Tom! Awesome guitar playing, too!
