Loose Moose Spring 2014 Message

I am so behind on my Loose Moose postings! But I only have 3 more weeks of school and then SUMMER! (Well, I'm taking online classes in the summer, but we won't talk about that.)



Anyway, we have a short Loose Moose video, complete with green monster hands, informing us of the following...

     The nature of The Loose Moose Show is changing!

     From now on shorter, more intense skits and sketches (and who knows what else) will be released with irregular intervals.

     This is due to the general increase in busyness and geographical distance between LMS members.
     (Love the Little Miss Busy book + globe = decreasing productivity!) =D

     Don't worry though! The bonds of love between us are still strong. <3

     We look forwards to showing you new material (although that may not be for awhile). Thanks for watching and please keep sharing and subscribing. 

So maybe I'll have time to get caught up on my LMS postings. Hope the boys have a great summer and post more as soon as they can.

Sam Leggett Singing with The Rolling Stones

Oh my goodness!!! Sam Leggett tweeted a link to a video today. In it you can see his choir singing with The Rolling Stones at a 50th anniversary concert in London in front of 20,000 people! So excited for him!




You can see the choir at the beginning and again at 07:00.



This video shows the choir a lot more. Sam is in the choir on the right called the Voce Chamber Choir. They and the London Youth Chamber Choir on the left sang the first encore, "You Can't Always Get What You Want."

Old Libera Photo & Article

Just found an article about Libera from February 2000! It was written by the Diocese of Southwark and includes a photo I've never seen before!

Does anyone know who the second boy is? The photo looks like it's from 1997-1999, however, based on what the boys look like.

They had just changed their name to Libera, and there's a surprise in the article that I highlighted! The article says:

"Choristers from St. Philip's Church in Norbury are in the charts at the moment alongside the likes of Nigel Kennedy and Lesley Garrett.

Their debut CD album 'Libera' has been hovering around, and in, the top 10 classical record charts for several weeks now, and is shortly due for release in Europe and the USA.

Hoping to reach a wider audience than those who usually buy records of church music, the choir has recorded under the name 'Libera' - the boys have also recorded as 'Angel Voices'.

The music is mostly the work of the St Philip's music director, Robert Prizeman, with some tracks written with co-producer and one-time head choirboy, Ian Tilley. The CD is available in high street shops, on the Warner Classics label."

We knew Ian Tilley was in the St. Philip's Boys Choir, but did not know he was head choirboy! :D

Old Angel Voices Pictures

Our friend, Inna, posted some cool old pictures of Angel Voices concerts with an interesting explanation that they were performing "We Beseech Thee, Hear Us" from Godspell. You can read her blog here.

The pictures are from 1997 when Angel Voices had their own web site just like Libera does now. I'll post all the pictures here with the picture tag they came with.

Liam O'Kane Interview

Wow! It's been 2 years since I wrote about what Liam O'Kane is doing now! You can read my old posting here. Liam is still doing really well in music. Yesterday, an online magazine called Leftlion posted a nice article about him that you can read here. Thank you to Fan de LoK for the link! :D

Liam's fans will be happy to know that he'll be headlining at The Nottingham Playhouse on June 16, 2012 from 8:00-9:30pm.

Libera fans in general will be happy to read what Liam said about his days in Angel Voices (now called Libera). I'll post those parts here in case the article ever gets deleted.

Please tell us about your choirboy days...I joined the choir when I was eight, at the time they performed under the name Angel Voices. The first thing I did with them when I joined was to spend three months at Pinewood Studios recording a series with Thora Hird. I was on two out of three Angel Voices albums. The choir later went on to perform under the name Libera. I recorded a lot of the solos on the first album and then my voice broke. It was an amazing part of my life; I got to do so many things and meet some incredible people.

You were in Baz Luhrmann's Romeo and Juliet, right? Well, my voice is. The Choir recorded some of the sound track at Abbey Road. We sing the backing to the soloist in the church [Everybody’s Free]. They never flew us out for the filming, so the choir in the film mime over us.

And you still have fans keeping an eye on you around the world?
The Choir's now world famous as Libera. Robert Prizeman the director is a genius and has created his own modern style of choral music. Having sang a lot of the solos on the first album I get a lot of people searching for videos and things of me singing back in the day, but they also find what I do now. Some people really enjoy what I do now but I appreciate it's very different from the choir days.

It's so nice what he said about Mr. Prizeman! And Liam was in Angel Voices for a long time! Age 8 - 15!

Stefan Leadbeater & Orlando Woscholski In An Opera

Exciting news! Stefan Leadbeater (current Libera member) and Orlando Woscholski (former Libera member) are currently performing in the opera "The Cunning Little Vixen" by Janacek at the Glyndebourne Festival Opera 2012, Lewes, East Sussex, England from May 20 - June 28.

The June 10 performance was filmed by the UK Guardian, and you can watch it here in two parts until June 22. Thank you to Martin for the link! :D

Orlando first appears as a Frog in Part 1 at 10:55.

Stefan first appears as Pepik, one of The Forester's sons, in Part 1 at 20:42.

Pepik's father, The Forester, captures a young fox and brings it home. His two sons begin teasing it.

Pepik hits the Vixen, and she becomes angry.

The Vixen retaliates by biting off Pepik's leg. A knife is used to symbolize her teeth.

Orlando next appears as one of the Vixen's many cubs.

Orlando is on the far left.

Orlando then appears at the end as the Frog's grandchild to illustrate the cycle of life.

Taking their final bows.

Orlando listed in the final credits as Frog.
